Hot Dogs n Sausages for BBQ

My summary of this is simply to offer a good choice of Hot Dogs and Sausages and cook them both well in terms of serve them both juicy and cook to Perfection.

Sausages – Chef inexperienced always falls into same trap of cooking on flame BBQ from raw which means you will burn them 100% – so solution is to Oven them in Kitchen before hand and then finish on the Flame Grills as basically you would have cooked out all the Fat which is the reason you are burning them which stop you tasting the actual flavour of the Sausage – Comprende

Hot Dogs – Different Plan here as you can put them straight onto the BBQ from packet and cook slow as no fat content to worry about but be careful not to leave over any flames. Basically heat them up and serve cooked to Perfection.

Oh so Posh Hot Dog Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 brown onions, peeled and cut into 2cm wedges
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 150ml German beer
  • 8 Tesco Finest Bramley apple sausages
  • 4 Finest brioche hot dog buns
  • 4 slices Emmental cheese, cut into halved triangle shapes
  • 80g pickled red cabbage
  • French\’s classic yellow mustard, to serve

Method

  1. Heat a large frying pan over a high heat. Add the onions and the oil, and fry for 5-10 mins to brown the onions until slightly caramelised.
  2. Pour over the beer, cook for 1 min and then turn off the heat. The beer will evaporate and leave you with juicy, tasty onions.
  3. Meanwhile, fry the sausages on a grill, barbecue or in a frying pan for 15-20 mins, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through.
  4. Pop the hot dog buns on the grill or in a frying pan for 1-2 mins to heat up, once the sausages are cooked.
  5. Remove and start to layer the hot dog: start with the cheese in the hot bun, then top with the sausages, onions, pickled red cabbage and a good squeeze of mustard. Serve immediately with a large glass of Strong German Beer.
